I'm not sure what I was expecting my first day back at work after break would be like, but pretty much every problem that could happen, did happen and I spent the better part of my day fixing things. I'm blessed to work primarily from home (and only on school days) but the downside to that is that the work doesn't ever really end...the phone keeps ringing and the computer is always right there.
But, for the most part, I like what I do and I am pretty good at shutting things down when my 4 hour work day is over. Except for Monday, where I kept working and working and working.
Early, early, EARLY morning found me in Dana Point...a beach town south of where I live. Correction...a perfect beach town south of where I live. Not enough coffee places but that's ok. I can deal.
I met a friend for a quick lunch and she was thoroughly disgusted by the fact that I couldn't stop working. Maybe that's an exaggeration...I was able to stop for like 2 minutes.
So. Many. Problems. To. Solve.
Really. Great. Louie. Salad.
I've been craving louie/thousand island/ russian dressing lately and even if my girlfriend did order an egg white omelet with tomatoes on the side and I did order an extra side of dressing and then proceeded to lick my plate clean while she ate like a lady....well, it was worth every bite.
Christmas has pretty much been packed away, though I did notice that there are a few odds and ends that I had missed. The biggest problem? My pantry. There is junk food everywhere and no one is eating it. Good for them, I guess.
That apple cider tea was on clearance after Thanksgiving...I bought two boxes and wish I had bought ten. It is soooo good.
The biggest news of late...after listening and reading and hearing people talk about Downton Abbey (and being at a party on Sunday night where everyone was dashing out to catch the season 3 premiere) we signed up for Netflix (am I the only one that doesn't like Netflix?) and watched the first show of season one.
We have since watched 4 more and should be caught up to the rest of the world by next weekend. BUT...do we want to be caught up??? Can I handle having to wait for new shows? Oh my...it is such a great story.
Tea. Freshly pedi'd toes, pj's stolen out of that guy that I like so much's closet and Downton Abbey...perfection.
The very first league game of basketball is tonight...Brian's season will be over before we know it. I'm hoping for a slower work day (meaning I can catch up) and finally getting to enjoy the quietness of my little house on my little street.
At least for a few minutes. Gotta do the floors and laundry and clean a bathroom or two. Real life, never ending stuff. I suppose I should plan some meals, too. Boys...well, they like to eat.
But first...just one more cup of coffee in the quiet.
