It's Friday morning, early, and while my household begins to stir I have been up for awhile. Smiling. Smiling because yesterday was such a lovely day...a day that, until 4pm, I thought was Friday. Why I didn't figure it out until before then I have no clue, but that's ok. Today really is Friday, that guy that I like so much is home, the house is clean and the weather? Well, the weather is warm.

I made a huge pot of gravy yesterday and it feels so good to have a stock of it now in the outside freezer. While my Aunt was here she taught me to make her meatballs and the consensus is in...hers are better than mine. Way better. Hers are a lot more work than mine but are so very, very good.
I love that about Italian cooks...every Italian mama is convinced, without a doubt, that her recipe is the best. And you know what? She's right.

Today is a date day...a day where that guy that I like so much and I are going to steal away for a little r & r. We've got two plans...one involves Disneyland and the other a drive along the ocean. Both sound good to me, so I'll let him choose.
